Being in the room
Our “Shakespeare bubble”.
I just got home from Odessa, TX where I completed a contract with the Texas Shakespeare Festival (TSF). We performed Much Ado About Nothing and Hamlet; playing in an empty theatre. “The Globe of the Great Southwest“. The productions were recorded and will be distributed to schools throughout Texas. Although we didn’t have an audience with us, being in the room with each other was magic. Being able to say, “let’s try it!”, “can we run that?”, and “what if?” - the feeling of relying on each other. Feeding off each other. The magic of our work lives in the space. In order to make our space safe we took a number of covid tests, isolated, and wore masks until filming day. It was a new frontier and familiar all at once. Worth every effort.
The links to these performances will be available soon.
